About
Autobiography
I'm Blak-Ram born in Wad Medani, Sudan raised in the Southwest of the UK. My story is very deep, my father was one of 28 Army officers executed by the Sudanese government after an attempted coup just a few months before I was born. I have no siblings so I grew up an only child and jumped from a lot of schools and lived in the Gulf for a few years. I developed my interest in hip hop after being introduced to Wu Tang, DMX and Ice Cube by my cousins and started downloading a lot of songs illegally in the early 2000s.
I first began rapping in my teens writing a lot of terrible bars! I started writing raps seriously when I was at University and dropped some mixtapes and had some live performances in the York area and dropped my first music video (unmasked).
Fast forward to the present, after quite a hiatus I rebranded myself and dropped my most recent EP. #Make Sudan Great Again (2019) was musical narrative of the Sudanese revolution. I went through every phase of the revolution, track by track with the trials and tribulations that people dealt with; it is available on all platforms. I also recently had the pleasure of connecting with Sadat X and El Da Sensei to bring you Cruise Control the track was produced by my friend and late producer Daniyel Artis (1984-2020) who passed away from unknown causes.
I am an avid mask collector and like to incorporate them into my persona. I'm also very passionate about video games, so you may hear references to games or me rapping over beats that use video game samples like Starfox, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Smash Bros or Legend of Zelda, so stay tuned for more gaming tracks!
